( skirt and shoes: h&m ~ mens denim: forever 21 ~ t shirt: catalina island)

six months ago i was thinking to myself its going to feel like forever before i have this baby. i had so many ideas about how i wanted to blog about every moment and do outfit posts, now fast forward six months and now im due in three months and havent done any of that! i cant believe how fast it went and how lazy i've gotten. but alas heres my new favorite outfit that i slapped on just for you guys. since my pants officially dont button i am moving on to stretchy skirts and my husbands clothes (which he is just thrilled about).
thus far pregnancy has been smooth sailing. i have managed to keep the stretch marks away (for now) and have been eating as well as i can. recently i have had the delightful privilege of experiencing braxton hicks but my theory on this is the more the merrier  since i am going to try and go into this birthing situation natural i figure it will better prepare me for when i go into labor and im not freaking out since i have never experienced it before. this way i will have a slight idea as to how its going to go down and i will already have my technics on dealing with the pain. one can only hope for the best.
for those of you mamas out there who did it without pain meds what were some of your technics in handling it? id love to hear all about it!

lately i have been itching to make some homemade baby clothes but between my sad excuse of a sewing machine and living in a town with hardly any good fabric stores around my motivation has been, well, non existent. but chad and i's third year wedding anniversary is this month and he bought me a brand spankin new sewing machine that completely knocks the socks off my old one.
that being said i thought i would at least try and make do with what i got. so if you live in a small town like i do and hardly any of the fabric stores in your area carry standard jersey knit fabric then i have a solution for you!
walmart has officially become my new bff for carrying cheap jersey t shirts that come in 5XL. the shirt was only 5 dollars and i still have enough fabric to make another pair of leggings and possibly a headband. once i found the t shirt i started on a hunt for a baby legging pattern that didnt involve owning a pair of leggings already and wasn't too complicated. i finally stumbled upon what i think is the best baby legging tutorial out there. the pattern is free, very easy to follow, and you can choose three different sizes to make. you can find it here.

after making the leggings i took fabric paint and hand painted all the triangles. you can either do it before or after, its up to you. i want you to know i was intensely tempted to do cat head silhouettes instead of triangles but given that i do that on almost everything and i don't know what gender wolfgang is a decided against it. i do have a feeling that my little wolfgang is going to be decked out in leggings about 99% of the time.
happy sunday ya'll
much love,

life has been so busy it seems lately between working and catching up with family, editing photos and getting organized for the baby...ill be honest its been awhile since i have painted my toes, or watered my plants or created anything. i would give anything to sleep in till 11 and have nothing to do all day long. then again, wouldn't we all like that?!
we are trying to plan for little wolfgangs arrival, only four more months people! we are still not finding out what the gender is which has made shopping a little on the tricky side. especially since i keep finding myself leaning toward the girlish side of things.
soon we will start working on wolfgangs little room. (we have to convert our sunroom into a nursery) i am on a mad hunt for a good crib and ideas for tiny spaces.
here are some of my top favorite mouth drooling baby pieces that i must get my hands on. you can see all of my favorite wolfgang trinkets on my pinterest board here. i hope you are all having a fabulous work week.
much love

being pregnant has been a wild experience thus far. i have been crazy busy lately working full time again, by the time weekends roll around all i want to do is sleep. so here is my apology now for being m.i.a. lately you have no idea how much i dont want to be.
thus far i have been enjoying every moment of being pregnant. i have been very fortunate to have not even an ounce of morning sickness (yeayy!!) i am currently 14 weeks and my little bean is the size of a lemon. currently i crave bean burritos, heavy pastas, french bread and the occasional pickle. i have been very into the book bringing up bebe which i have enjoyed every second of thus far, if you haven't read it you should!
chad and i have decided to wait on finding out the sex of our little one until it is born. you dont get very many big surprises in life and this is one that we thought would be worth the wait. we are still juggling around some names that we like which is a lot more of a challenge then i expected it to be. but its been a fun process.
this friday we are leaving for a week to go to colorado to visit friends and family before the baby comes. i promise to take lots of pictures and fill you in on all the juicy details. i hope your monday is going well.
much love

pretty and pregnant

hello my friends! i wanted to share with you the pregnancy photos i took of my best friend summer. she is having a lovely baby girl named willow and even though she is still growing we were both too anxious to wait to take photos so this will be part one of her pregnancy series. so prepare yourselves for seeing a lot of this face.

in other news i was all excited this weekend to show you my new curtains that i made for my casa BUT after finishing one curtain i went to work on the next side and i cut my fabric too short so here is half of my project. i felt so down about it that i have yet to go to the fabric store to finish it.

while i am sad about my off cut fabric my heart is settled knowing that my husband chads project over the weekend isnt going all that smooth either (i know thats terrible getting pleasure from someones pain). he started building a cabinet in our bathroom because we have hardly any storage space and he discovered tonight that he cant hinge the door on because he built the whole thing crooked. now he is trying to use parchment paper to trace his cabinets and make a crooked door for his crooked cabinets. ohhh the many reasons i love him one being we are so similar so....i feel a little better about my fabric.

while he was building his wonderful cabinet i was bored out of my mind so i stole a few of his scrap pieces of plywood to use as a canvas and re-created some of my favorite art.

well my friends i hope you had a wonderful monday. my laptop is breaking so it might be a while before i write again. much love
